Time… it’s the most intriguing and least discriminating of all commodities. It doesn’t care how old you are, nor does it measure your height and weight. It couldn’t care any less about your appearance or gender, nor does it have an opinion about your relationships. It won’t consider your strengths and weaknesses, nor will it evaluate your social standing. It’s never impressed with wealth, nor interested in dreams and aspirations. It can’t increase or decrease whether you serve God with it or spend every minute pursuing selfish desires. Everyone is given the same allotment; and everyone must spend every moment because none can be saved for tomorrow. Time will favor no man, and time will wait for no man. But one thing will make time ‘feel different!’ If you waste it on ungodly endeavors, your life, legacy, resources, and purpose will seem to vanish into vapors.
There are, nevertheless, three critical ideas to consider: one irrefutable fact, one poignant question, and one word of advice. 1. Irrefutable fact: Time is a gift from God. 2. Poignant question: What will you do with your gift? 3. Word of advice: Do something valuable with your time! Since only things that please God are valuable, you should begin immediately by doing something with your time that is pleasing to God. It’s free; and the only limitation is time itself. And remember, you have the same amount to spend as anyone else—just don’t waste yours.
Here’s how to get started with something that God finds extremely valuable; amazingly, at the same time, it will help you become more like Christ as you do. Y’shua said, “It is the Spirit who gives life, and the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are Spirit and life.” Today, take a moment from God’s gift of time and use it to bless someone with words of life. Every time you do, it will be time well spent! And let’s face it; you have to spend all your time on something.
