A call to radical, grace-empowered, faith-based obedience to God is going forth into the Church. What will it take to come to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ? “The Heart of David” intends to inspire God’s people to search for the deeper things of God and to help create unity of the faith among those who will one day establish God’s Kingdom on earth. A wise old friend once said, “If you believe you have something to do with establishing God’s Kingdom, you’re right; and if you don’t, you’re also right. It’s up to you.”
Let’s open the chambers and peer deeply into the heart of David. David had a heart of praise, one that rejoiced in God’s ways, sought after the Lord in all things, and delighted to do His will. He had a never-ending joy that sprang forth from knowing God.
However, David did something that few other men in history would dare to do. He was able to anticipate God’s desires and was bold enough to declare them aloud before ever being told! What can a man accomplish for God, who loves Him so deeply and wants to honor Him so completely that he can foresee the divine plan of his Creator? My prayer for you is that, like David, you too would develop such an uninhibited intimacy with God that your love for Him would inspire you to share David’s vision and join in his daring prayer.
This is not just another story about the renowned king of Israel. “The Heart of David” explores the magnificence of using Biblical blueprints to uncover the “mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven.” On our voyage to the Promised Land, we will journey from Captivity, through the Wilderness, and ultimately find ourselves standing at the shore of the Jordan. Along the way, we will discover our high calling. What will it take to cross over? Mix unshakable faith, a giant slayer with the heart of David, and the awesome power of the Holy Spirit, and what we have is the recipe to part the waters. Step into the river and pass over on dry ground! The high calling of the Church requires radical, grace empowered, faith-based obedience to God’s commandments.
However, THINK NOT that anything can be added to the blood of Christ as a requirement for eternal salvation; no doctrine presented here should be interpreted as such. The only way to everlasting life is faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ, and that faith is a free gift through God’s grace. However, radical, grace-empowered, faith based obedience to the God who saved you should be your gift to Him in return. Your obedience should not feel like a duty or obligation, but it should be your heart’s desire.
