Cease resistance; abandon control of your life entirely, and come into complete submission to God. That’s what it means to surrender. When Y’shua returns, some of you will be like Him. And for that transformation to occur, it requires that you surrender your need to control everything and practice releasing things into God’s hands.
Pray this without ceasing: “God, I stand before You today to confess that, at times, I do things my way, in my own strength, and with myself in mind. I acknowledge that my way is not always the right way. I should never manipulate others, nor do I always need to intervene to influence the course of events or to manage outcomes. I should not be so quick to assert my authority or be willing to do whatever it takes to get the result I’ve decided is appropriate. Today, I let go and trust God! I will work on not being immediately disappointed if what I hope for someone else, or am thoroughly convinced is proper for them, is not what they choose for themselves. I let go of the frustration that comes when someone I care for refuses to exercise the discipline it takes to make the correct decision. I will resist being discouraged or sad when someone demonstrates an unwillingness to do the work necessary to go in what I see is the right direction for their life. I also acknowledge that I may not even be in alignment with what You want for them God, and for that I apologize!
Whoever won’t surrender their need to control and instead practice release simply won’t become like Him.
