Yearly Feasts of Yahweh
2022-10-14 | Connecting Y’shua to The Seven Biblical Feasts
“Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years.” It’s easy to miss. The cycles of the sun and the moon are given for seasons, and for days and years. But, what are the signs? Y’shua rebuked religious leaders for not knowing. “Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times.” Can you discern the signs of the times? Paul assumed you could; “But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night… We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.” For what signs should you be watching?
The yearly cycle of Biblical Feasts is precisely to which Yahweh, Y’shua, and Paul are referring. The Feasts are God’s prophetic calendar for mankind’s history and future. However, if you don’t prioritize their prophetic significance, tragically, you won’t be able to tell what time it is; you won’t be capable of recognizing the signs of the times. Worse yet, you won’t even know what signs to watch for. Let’s take a sobering journey through the yearly Biblical Feast cycle, so you can synchronize your calendar. Then, you will know perfectly what day it is!
2022-04-08 | Exodus 10-13 | Preparation Day (Passover – Question Everything)
Over the years, I have learned that asking questions is a powerful way to engage with people on a deeper level. When I was younger, and much more impetuous, I thought arguing with people was an effective way to convince them they were missing something. I was very wrong and it was a tough lesson. But, as I’ve grown older, and my hair has become filled with silver, I’ve come to realize there’s a much better way.
Paul used the Hebraic technique of asking questions quite often, and he has stirred the imagination of Christians for two thousand years. Check out a few of his many in I Corinthians 9:
- Who ever goes to war at his own expense?
- Who plants a vineyard and does not eat of its fruit?
- Do I say these things as a mere man?
- Does not the law say the same also? A quick review of Paul’s greatest “Theological Treatise” in Romans, and you will discover that he asks at least 75 different questions! Here are a mouthful to chew on:

- “What advantage then has the Jew, or what is the profit of circumcision? Much in every way!
- “Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law.”
- “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?”
- “What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!”
- “What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not!”
- “O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!”
Y’shua also used questions quite effectively. “Who do men say that I am?” challenged Peter to come to a Spirit-inspired conclusion; it was a provocative question for sure. “The Son of God…the Messiah,” he was forced to confess.
However, what might be the most provocative question of all, is one that Y’shua leaves the conclusion for you to discover. “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season?” I want you to draw your attention to this question, but not before contemplating His remarkable declaration earlier in the same sermon. “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.”
Before we go, I would like to ask you a few provocative questions of my own, about Y’shua’s remarkable statement: “What is the Gospel of the Kingdom?” and “What is the end?” Please don’t be too hasty to offer an answer. Give it some serious thought. Consider that I’d not likely ask if the answer was simple. I’ll give you one hint however; think about the title of this sermon.

The cycles of the sun and the moon are given for seasons, for days and for years. But what signs are we looking for? Y’shua rebuked the religious leaders of the day “…Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times.” (Matthew 16:3) What signs should we be discerning? “But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night…We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.” (I Thessalonians 5:1-2, 4-6)
What signs should we be watching for?
I believe that the cycle of Biblical Feast Days is exactly what Yahweh, Y’shua, and Paul is referring to. They are God’s prophetic calendar for mankind’s history. However, if you are not familiar with their prophetic significance, you won’t be able to tell what time it is. So, this week we will take a journey through the Feasts of the Lord, so you may all synchronize your watches!

There is a difference between the Egyptians and Israel. “Then Moses said, “Thus says Yahweh: ‘About midnight I will go out into the midst of Egypt; and all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne, even to the firstborn of the female servant who is behind the handmill, and all the firstborn of the animals. Then there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as was not like it before, nor shall be like it again. But against none of the children of Israel shall a dog move its tongue, against man or beast, that you may know that Yahweh does make a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.’” Exodus 11:4-7
2020-10 | The Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah)
“Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a sabbath-rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work on it; and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the LORD.’” (Leviticus 23:23-25)
“Be glad then, you children of Zion, And rejoice in the LORD your God; For He has given you the former rain faithfully, And He will cause the rain to come down for you— The former rain, And the latter rain in the first month.” Joel 2:23 NKJV
2020-09-25 | Leviticus 16 | Yom Kippur – Shadow of Things to Come
“Once and for all means once and for all,” doesn’t it? If there is one Feast of Yahweh, more than any other, that Christians believe no longer has any relevance for them, it has to be Yom Kippur. “The blood of Christ has paid for our sins past, present, and future, so why do I need to pay attention to a holiday that foreshadowed the sacrifice needed to cover the sins of the world?”
It’s a worthy question and one worth exploring, especially in light of these difficult to explain scriptures written decades AFTER the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. “The Feasts of the Lord are shadows of things to come.” (Colossians 2:17); “Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come.” (Hebrews 9:11); and, “The Law, having a shadow of the good things to come.” (Hebrews 10:1). The Feasts, the High Priest, and the Law, all shadows of things yet to come, even decades after Christ. These are mysteries worth unlocking; secrets with discoveries relevant to every Christian serious about the future of their faith.
